NDSU Cross Coutry Camp

The NDSU Cross Country Camp is open to any and all entrants (Grades 7-12) and is designed for athletes new to running or experienced athletes with a Cross Country background . The camp is designed to provide a training environment that allows for fitness gains as well as increased levels of knowledge in training. Included in this will be: In depth introduction to strength training for distance runners, executing an effective racing strategy, development of the competitive mindset, nutritional guidance for the young athlete, and more! Campers will leave with an informational packet of all the topics covered as well as an NDSU Cross Country Camp T-Shirt. CAMPER INFORMATION

Upon arrival (check in will open at 11:30 a.m), all campers are to report to the Shelly Ellig Indoor Track and Field Complex located just south west of the Sanford Health Athletic Complex (University Drive and 16th Ave N) for camp registration . All campers should be prepared to participate on the day of arrival. Departure from camp will be at 11:00am on the last day of the camp. Campers can be picked up at Shelly Ellig Indoor Track and Field Complex
WHAT TO BRING
Training gear, training shoes, spikes, swim suit and a positive attitude. 
HOUSING
Campers will be housed in NDSU dormitories and meals will be prepared by the NDSU Food Service personnel. Things to remember for resident campers: fan, blanket, pillow, towel, and toiletries.
TYPICAL CAMP DAY
7-8 am Breakfast
8:00 AM- Morning Run (Vans will take campers to training venues in the Fargo Area)
10:00 AM- Strength Training
11:00 AM- Fundamentals of Rehab (Ex. Stretching, Foam Rolling, Icing, etc)
12:00 PM Lunch
1:30 PM- Lecture from Coach Carlson (Ex. Nutritional Needs for Distance Runners)
3:00 PM- Cross Train + Strength Training (Ex. Aqua Jog and Core Routines)
4:30 PM- Game Time (Ex. Spike Ball/Ultimate Frisbee)
6:00 PM- Dinner
7:00 PM- Guest Speaker (Ex. Professional Runner Maddie Van Beek)
8:00-9:30 PM- Camp Activity (Ex. Redhawks Game/Talent Show)
