Entering his first season, Gary Sussman brings a long history of tennis experience to Marist. A teaching professional at various venues in the Hudson Valley, Sussman has also been a USTA competitive 4.0 league player for more than 20 years, playing first and second singles.
Matt Anastasi has spent the past four years mentored by Mark Savage at Sportsplex. Matt loves to work with kids and adults of all ages and abilities. He believes that with hard work and passion, you can reach any goal.
As a player, Matt came up through the Sportsplex program and was a two-time county and 2012 Section IX doubles champion at Cornwall High School, playing most of his career at first and second singles. He also captains the Sportsplex men’s 4.5 USTA team. He is currently the number one player for Mount Saint Mary College Men’s Tennis team, and was a 2015-2016 Skyline Conference scholar athlete while leading the Knights with 25 singles and doubles victories and a second-place conference finish.
Matt is currently working towards a degree in English with a dual concentration in adolescent education and special education and a minor in psychology. In 2016 while in school, he was certified by the USPTA as a professional.
