WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A COMMUTER AND AN OVERNIGHT CAMPER?

Commuters come from 9am-7:30pm. They will participate in all the skills and drills but DO NOT participate in the games at night. Commuters are given lunch only.

Overnight campers spend the night on campus. They participate in the skills and drills AND the night games. Overnight campers are given breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

WHAT DOES A TYPICAL DAY LOOK LIKE?
Overnight Camp Typical Schedule

7:30 am - Breakfast
9:00 am – Attendance
9:05 am – Lecture on Focus of the Day
9:15 am – Glove Grills
9:30 am – Stretch & Progressive Throwing
10:15 am – Offensive Stations
11:45 am - Lunch
1:00 pm – Recreational Time (Swim, wiffleball, etc.)
2:00 pm – Position Play
2:45 pm – Modified Games
4:15 pm - Dinner
6:00 pm – Games
7:30 pm – Commuter Camper Pick-up Time
8:15 pm - Movie/Swimming
10:15 pm – In Rooms

8:30 am – Registration (Only Monday)
9:00 am – Stretch & Progressive Throwing
9:30 am – Offensive Stations
11:30 am – Lunch
1:00 pm - Recreational Time
2:00 pm – Defensive Stations
3:00 pm – Modified Game Situations
4:00 pm – Pick-up

WHAT DO I BRING?

Suitable practice attire including pants
Glove, cleats, knee pads, bat and helmet (please label all personal items)
Casual clothes: shorts, shirts, pants, etc.
Swimsuit (optional)
Linens: sleeping bag/sheets, pillow, towels
Toiletries, sunscreen, water bottle, fan
Spending money: $15-20 suggested
Cell phone

DO I NEED MONEY?

Yes. One of the days at camp we will go to the Bear Necessity store so the girls can buy apparel. Overnight campers can also order food from surrounding dining establishments on certain nights if they choose.

WHAT TIME DO I PICK MY CHILD UP AND WHERE?

You can pick your child up at Mahaney diamond at 7:30pm.

DO WE DO ANY OTHER ACTIVITIES?

Yes. They have the option to swim each day after lunch and before the afternoon session. They also go to the Bear Necessity store to do some shopping

WHAT TIME IS LIGHTS OUT?

10:15pm.

CAN I WATCH MY KIDS PLAY GAMES?

Yes. Parents are welcome to come watch their children play. Our games start at 6pm and go until about 8pm. The games are held at UMaine Baseball Complex.

WHAT TIME DO I DROP MY CHILD OFF AND WHERE?

Your child should be ready to go at 9am so getting there a little before 9am so they can get their cleats on and get ready for the day is best. They can be dropped off at Mahaney Diamond.

WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN IT RAINS?

If it does rain we have the option to go to the dome.

IF MY CHILD IS AN OVERNIGHT CAMPER CAN I TAKE THEM OFF CAMPUS?

This is something that needs to be cleared by a staff member.

CAN I REQUEST A ROOMMATE FOR MY CHILD?

Yes. You can request a roommate when you register for camp.

CAN SOMEONE ELSE PICK UP MY CHILD?

Someone else may pick up your child but a note will have to be given to a staff member prior to pick up.

IF A CAMPER IS LEGALLY ABLE TO DRIVE, WHERE CAN THEY PARK?

Campers who will be transporting themselves to and from camp are required to complete and return a Motor Vehicle Parking form. You will receive a parking permit at check-in.
