The Loyola Marymount men’s golf team has opened their new 18,000 square foot Phyllis and Angelo Mozilo Family Foundation Short Game Center on the university campus in May 2018. Located at the former home of the Higgins Short Game Center, behind Smith Field, home to LMU Softball, the Lions now have an edge in both practice and recruiting.

“In Los Angeles it is hard to find the real estate to have a golf facility on campus,” said Head Coach Jason D’Amore. “This short game center provides us the opportunity to sharpen our short games and compete with the best schools in the country.”

The facility includes a 1,000 square foot bunker and six hole locations, including a 75 yard maximum shot.

“What separates the best programs in college golf is a superior short game,” said D’Amore. “With the new Phyllis and Angelo Mozilo Family Foundation Short Game Center, our team has the potential to become a premier name in college golf. We are very excited to present this opportunity to our student athletes.”
