An Outstanding Introduction to an Engineering Career!
Offered by the Department of Mechanical and Civil Engineering at Florida Tech
Witness laboratory demonstrations and conduct well-designed experiments in Aerospace, Biomedical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical and Ocean Engineering as well as Computer Science, Construction Management, Nanotechnology and Physics. Also learn about MATLAB, AutoCAD, Fusion 360, and Pro Engineer. All of these activities and laboratory experiments are real assignments that students do for class here at Florida Tech!
This Camp is an interactive 5-day experience into the life and studies of a student of Engineering. You have the option of staying overnight (highly recommended) in our residence halls, or just coming during the day. We will immerse you into the 10 ABET accredited engineering majors here at Florida Tech, to give you a better idea what field you will actually be interested in!
Have one-on-one meetings with department heads of your choice or engineering major, receive instruction from the top professors at our university, and get to know the Camp Assistants who are current students in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Ocean Engineering!
At Florida Tech, our students are all more than capable to assist you with whatever you may need. Our goal is to make this one of the most enjoyable, educational, and teachable experiences which will better prepare you for college and life as an engineering student!
In the past, these subjects have been taught along with small "Engineering Innovation Challenges" where campers will compete against each other for daily prizes! These include Bristle Bots, Paper Rockets, Foil Barges, Balsa Beams, Egg Drop Pod, and more!
