Physical Education Complex

The crown jewel of Coppin State's athletic facilities is the Physical Education Complex, which was completed in the fall of 2009. The Physical Education Complex is a state-of-the-art, multi-purpose sports and entertainment center. The 246,000 square foot facility that has 4,100 fixed seats for basketball and concerts was completed at a cost of $136 million dollars. It is the home for the Coppin State men’s and women’s basketball teams as well as the volleyball team.
Since hosting its first event on December 5, 2009, the Physical Education Complex has also hosted the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) volleyball championships along with numerous Coppin State University academic events. The NCAA has also contacted Coppin State about hosting championship events inside of its facility.
Additionally, the complex includes a 400-meter outdoor track, a softball field, tennis courts, a soccer field, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, two weight rooms, racquetball courts, two auxiliary gymnasiums and a dance facility. Various Coppin State departments, including the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics,  are also housed within the complex as well as classrooms and office space.
