FAQs
What is private lesson designed to do?

Private lessons are designed for anyone who desires one-on-one attention during their lesson. We recommend private lessons to adults who are interested in learning to swim. Private lessons are mandatory for students under 4 years old.

Can I get an assessment of my child?

If you are unsure what group level to place your child in, we can do an assessment for you. Please bring your child to the pool anytime Monday and Wednesday from 5:30-7PM or Thursday from 6:30-7PM and we will assess your child at no charge.

What is your refund/credit policy?

After the first lesson, partial refunds will be granted (minus the cost of the first lesson and a 6% processing fee). Cancellations and refunds will not be granted following the second lesson and beyond. Refunds can also be applied as a credit towards registration for another full session of swim lessons. All credits expire if not used within 6 months.

Additionally, any group lesson cancellations (on behalf of the student receiving the lesson) that take place after the Friday before a session start date, will be granted a 50% refund.

Do you offer a staff discount?

All current Biola staff members are eligible to receive a $15.00 discount on all private lesson sessions. If you have a valid Biola ID and would like to register for a private swim lesson, please contact the Aquatics office for more details.

What is your inclement weather policy?

Our swim lessons will continue rain or shine. However, if there are signs of thunder and lightning, we must clear the pool for at least 30 minutes after the first sign of lightning. If there is no further occurrence of lightning after the initial clearing of the pool, lessons will resume as normal. If we must cancel a lesson due to inclement weather, we will notify you via email at the earliest possible time.

Do you offer lesson make-ups?

Unfortunately, the Aquatics program is not equipped to offer lessons make-ups.
